Powerful, compact and precise – The SCHOTTEL PumpJet Submersible SPJ-S is a submersible auxiliary thruster for manned and unmanned underwater vehicles. It is based on the proven SCHOTTEL PumpJet principle and features a specially designed pressure compensation system. By equalizing the hydrostatic pressure at the seals, the system enables reliable deepwater applications. The generated thrust can be continuously adjusted through 360 degrees, providing the underwater platform with maximum manoeuvrability. This makes the SPJ-S particularly suitable for operations in confined waters and for applications requiring high positioning accuracy.
The SPJ-S is immediately available and delivers thrust without time-consuming deployment procedures. For operators, this means increased platform availability and a reduced risk of operational downtime. Its flush integration into the outer hull also reduces the risk of damage in the event of seabed contact. In addition, the robust construction allows for controlled bottoming on the seabed. Thanks to its compact installation within the outer hull, the SPJ-S can be integrated into a wide range of platforms, from Extra Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (XLUUVs) to submarines.
