SCHOTTEL Hydrodynamics’ activities range from resistance and propulsion projections for the design of a wake-optimized propeller to efficient propeller design with detailed cavitation and pressure fluctuation analyses. We also provide support in installation planning, model / sea trials and operational and route optimization.
All this is achieved using the most advanced and powerful tools, such as numerical flow simulation. This enables us to simulate the entire spectrum of hydrodynamic problems. This ranges from propeller tip clearance and ship propulsion to cavitation phenomena and underwater sound. Flexible in scale and level of detail, we are able to analyze and optimize the entire ship propulsion system as well as individual propulsion units and components using most modern calculation methods.
