SCHOTTEL has delivered propulsion units for nine more newly built cargo vessels. Each of the carriers, designed by the Russian company Marine Engineering Bureau, is equipped with two rudder propellers from the German propulsion expert.
With effect from 1 April 2021, Dirk Wagner will take over as Managing Director at SCHOTTEL Middle East (SME) assuming the responsibilities of Andrew Bull, who will be leaving the company to pursue other interests outside of SCHOTTEL.
SCHOTTEL has been awarded a contract to deliver SCHOTTEL EcoPellers and PumpJets for two new autonomous RoRo ships. They will be operated by ASKO Maritime AS, Norway’s largest grocery wholesaler, and built at Cochin Shipyard (CSL) in India. Both vessels will have full battery-electric propulsion and are designed for transporting trailers across Oslo Fjord between two of ASKO’s distribution centers.
At the German SCHOTTEL GmbH Wismar subsidiary, a new crane system has been put into operation at an investment of 500,000 euro. The new system ensures a faster and more efficient production process and replaces an old system from 1979.
Ten new crab-catching vessels for the Russian crab-catching companies Antey, Merlion and Aqvainvest will be propelled by SCHOTTEL. They will be built at different shipyards in Russia and are designed by Damen as design type CC 5712. Eight will be constructed at Nakhodka and a further two at Brothers Nobel shipyard. They are scheduled to enter operation from 2020 to 2024.
Sanmar Shipyards and the German propulsion expert SCHOTTEL have signed a framework agreement, making SCHOTTEL the exclusive supplier of thrusters for 90-tonne BP tugs of the Bigaçay class in a Robert Allan design to Sanmar. The new framework agreement is valid for two years.
