QUALITY

OUR QUALITY PROMISE

Our customers’ satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do. Responsibility and sustainability are actively practiced and promoted by all employees in every division of the company.

A COMMON GOAL

CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION TO BENEFIT OUR CUSTOMERS

The quality of our products is achieved by careful planning of all necessary measures before and during order processing and by systematic monitoring of all processes. To ensure this, we rely on comprehensive quality assurance in all of our processes.

ONGOING CERTIFICATION PROCESS

We apply continuous certification processes to our products and services in our factories. To this end, we work closely with all the required marine classification and approving classification societies.

Valid certifications of our quality and environmental management system at the SCHOTTEL GmbH sites:

  • Headquarters in Spay
  • Spay Academy
  • Wismar subsidiary (DIN EN ISO 9001)
  • Dörth subsidiary

Certified welding facilities:

  • Production site in Dörth
  • Production site in Wismar
QUALITY CONTROLS DURING PRODUCTION

Our trained personnel independently compare the results with the defined quality requirements. These are checked and documented in the underlying quality gates on the basis of quality criteria. The quality processes ensure that the results are monitored. The documentation is standardized, and data is digitally and centrally backed up via the ERP system.

STANDARDIZED FAT PROCEDURES

The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) consists of the following parts:

  1. Verification of the individual components during production and assembly
  2. Final inspection of the assembled propulsion system

The final test is carried out in the form of functional testing or a test run, depending on the type of propulsion system. The type-specific FAT ensures the functionality of the propulsion system. In addition, the propulsion system is checked in terms of the quality requirements and – if requested – in the presence of the external surveyors before delivery release.

CLOSE DIALOGUE WITH OUR SUPPLIERS

In advance, we clarify technical requirements and develop quality guidelines to harmonize our quality standards. If there are any deviations, these are evaluated in the quality process. The aim is to prevent any repeat errors. Records of the part-related quality history allow us to analyze trends and to deal with problematic correlations at an early stage. Any anomalies are reported and addressed via an ERP-based complaint notice.
