SCHOTTEL Purchasing Guidelines

We are an innovative medium-sized group of companies specializing in the development, design, production and marketing of azimuth propulsion and manoeuvring systems, as well as complete propulsion systems with power ratings of up to 30 MW for vessels of all sizes and types.

High product quality and a real commitment to local presence are the hallmarks of our continuing success. A long tradition forms a major part of our corporate culture.

As an internationally oriented company with production plants in Spay, Wismar and Suzhou, China, the purchasing organization of the SCHOTTEL Group is committed to building and maintaining intensive and long-term relationships with suppliers in order to optimize and continuously improve efficiency and quality. Purchasing operations are organized and controlled centrally for all international production locations with the goal of ensuring a competitive advantage for our customers worldwide.

In view of the long life cycle of our products, we attach particular importance not only to economic success factors but also to aspects of quality and logistics, so that we can evaluate the product to be supplied and the related order processing from the point of view of total life-cycle costs.

To achieve these goals, SCHOTTEL’s purchasing organization seeks cooperation with suppliers who are interested in a long-term relationship on partnership terms with a globally operating company.
